In the second set, the story changed a little bit. With the substitution of Raffaela Camet (two points in the earlier set) for Ginna Lopez (five points in the set), Peru changed their game. Even though Italy went with the advantage to the first technical time out (8-7), Peru encouraged by nearly the entire 5,000 in attendance who assisted the match, and produced five straight points. Peru tied the set at the 16 points, but then the reception started to fail. Italy scored six straight points, thanks to the incorporation to the match of Rosa Baggi (three points in the set), who made Italy's block stronger. Because of Silvia Lotti´s service on the final point ended the set 25-20 in favor of Italy at 25 minutes.
The third set was close early. Valentina Diouf´s blocking (four points in the set) was harder than before, which complicated Peru. The score was tight until the first technical time out, which came just with one point of difference in favor of Italy. Peru's reception and block were decreesing; which was a good opportunity for Italy. Chiara Scarabelli´s block (four points in the set) gave to the Italy the advantage with 8 points at the second technical time out. Italy's Lotti (one point in the set) was the key to success for Italy with the great serve that she had. Peru's dig had a lot of troubles as well as the reception. At this moment, the difference increased to 11, but Italy lost the ball for a service error. Italy started to defeat Peru's block and the Peru coach Natalia Málaga asked for the second time out. Laura Baggi´s serve (one point in the set) was stronger than the Peru blocking and the set ended 25-14 in 21 minutes.
