The butterflies of Dominican flew over Poland in a fantastic performance

Mexicali, Mexico, July 17, 2009- Dominican player flew like Butterflies and sting the Polish team like bees to set their second victory 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16) in 72 minutes of exciting volleyball skills in  the second day of the 2009 Women’s Junior World Championship pool C match held here at Auditorio del Estado Ciudad Deportiva hall in Mexicali, Mexico on Friday. Dominican team improved their competition win- loss ratio to 2-0 and secured a place in the final 8 teams while Poland dropped to 0-2 to play for 9- 16 positions.
 The Dominican team started the match highly motivated by the support of a big number of spectators in the hall and thus they controlled the net action through their better block of Estefany Arias and Manfranchi Rodriguez as well as the combinations led by the skillful setter Niverka Marte so they led comfortably 16-9 at the STT. Poland improved their defense for a while and that allowed them to use their attacking strategy through quick attacks of Maja Tokaraska and this allowed them to decrease the point deficit to 21-19 before the left attacker Elisa Eve did a good job to finish the set 25-21.
 The second set showed early Poland team activity through the spikes of Tamara Kalisznk and the block of Tokaraska to lead 8-5 at the FTT. Dominican players recovered quickly and regained the rhythm to overwhelm the situation again and lead 16-12 at the STT. The opposite Jeoselyna Rodriquez sent her razor sharp spikes from position 2 and irritated the Polish block regularly till aided by the solid block of Marifranchi Rodriguez to finish the set 25-21 and lead 2-0.
 The third set showed frequent unusual mistakes from Poland players specially in the backline defense so Dominican players used that to advance 8-3 at the FTT. With the rising performance of the key players in Dominican team like Jeoselyna, Yenifer Calcano, Eve and Marte and the more motivations gained it was difficult for the Polish to stay in competition as Dominican led 16-11 at the STT. With the increased concentration of the Dominicans and the frequent mistakes of the Polishes the Caribbean team went through to win the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
