Team profile

The core of the Junior Women's Team was selected in 2008, with some new players joining at the beginning of the 2009.

In attempt to raise the level of our play, Norimasa Sakakuchi was brought in to coach the team in 2006. Sakakuchi is full of vigor, experience and ambition.

Due to his leadership, the team finished second at the Asian Junior Women's Volleyball Championship last year and qualified for the 2009 Junior Women's World Championship. The team is aiming to finish as high as 6th at the tournament, the same position the team ranked at the 2006 Junior Women's World Championship.

Sakakuchi was hired as head coach of the Chinese Taipei Junior Women's Team in 2006, and helped our Youth Girl's team finish fourth at the Asian Youth Girl's Volleyball Championship in 2007.

In 2008, Sakakuchi led our Junior Women's team to silver at the Asian Junior Women's Championship held in Taipei.
