Team profile

The team was built in 2005 and its first goal was to put in a successful performance at the 2007 Youth Girls European Championship in Brno.

Head coach Ales Novak trained the team well and had many successes in preparation, but the girls had a disappointing time at the championship and new staff, including coach Rostislav Voralek, was brought in.

The team took part in the 2008 Junior European Championship qualification tournament and successfully qualified for the Final Round in Italy, where they finished in 10th place.

In the 2008/2009 season, the team took part in the Women's Senior 1st division in the Czech Republic. At that time the team was headed by head coach Tana Krempaska, who was also coach of the Senior Women's National Team. The junior team was very successful playing against the senior women's teams and won a few very important matches.

The team finished in second place during qualification for the World Championship.

Coach profile

Head coach Stanislav Mitac started working with the Czech Junior National Team just prior to the World Championship.

He is one of the most experienced coaches in the Czech Republic. He concurrently coaches the women's team Olymp Praha, with whom he has won 5 national championships (the last time in 2007/2008).

From 1995-2002 he coached the Senior Women's National Team, where he took part in the 2002 World Championship and 2003 European Championship.

Mitac has two children. His wife is a former National Team player.
