We want to keep our game simple, explains Lang Ping

Zurich, Switzerland, October 9, 2013 – In Wednesday’s second duel at 2013 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in Zurich (Switzerland), Guangdong Evergrande from China overpowered Kenya Prisons in straight sets (25-14, 25-11, 25-13).

Guangdong Evergrande coach Lang Ping: “I’m satisfied with the performance of my team. There were some communication problems between the players during the game, but we could help out. We want to keep our game simple as we haven’t had a lot of time to prepare. Our goal for the next game is to improve on connections setter-hitter.”

Guangdong Evergrande captain Ruoqi Hui: “We had only one training together. We need to find different patterns with our new players Megan, Juliann and Martina. We want to improve on defence and get better on blocking. Our coach told us that everybody has to pay attention during the whole match. We must work as a team.”

Kenya Prisons coach David Lungah Mutsami: “I think we didn't play on our best level, but anyway I'm happy how my team performed against a very strong opponent. Evergrande is one of the best teams in the world, and at some moments I was really happy to see what my girls did, especially the outside hitters. Everything was very tactical and suddenly, the Asians changed completely their style of playing. So I'm also willing to learn, especially from coaches like Lang Ping.”

Kenya Prisons captain Diana Khisa: “First of all I want to congratulate the team of Guangdong Evergrande. The match was tough against this very strong opponent. We have never played teams that have such a fast game. Our main problem today was our reception. The blocking was not very good as well.”
