Kenya Prisons was established seven years ago and
emerged as one of the strongest teams in Africa. The Kenyan club counts on a
blend of youth and experience that is continuously changing the landscape of
African volleyball after decades of domination by clubs Al Ahly (Egypt), Kenya
Pipeline, Kenya Commercial Bank, and the now disbanded Kenya Posta.
Kenya Prisons successfully won the first division
title of the Kenyan League on five occasions with coach David Lungaho manning
From 2008 to 2013, the club also established its hold
by winning the continental title five times, four of which were won
consecutively making them a regular Africa representative to the FIVB Women’s
Club World Championship. Their most recent undertaking was in Madagascar where
they outplayed their African neighbours at the annually held continental

the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship, coach Lungaho banks on his lineup.
Lungaho’s team is composed of the best Kenyan players, mostly coming from the
national team whose experience in international competitions helped the club
achieve its dominating status in the national and continental leagues.
