"We had to do some changes in our game plan," says Sesi-SP captain Fabiana Claudino

SESI celebrating the bronze medal

 Zurich, Switzerland, May 11, 2014-

Sesi-SP coach Talmo Curto de Oliveira:

"It was a game between two teams on the same level. Volero Zurich played with a real high blocking game and we had some difficulties with this. Nevertheless, my players never gave up and fought for their chances. It’s an incredible feeling winning such a medal with a young club. We are a family and won this bronze medal as team who have worked hard and have stuck together, even in the difficult moments.”

Sesi-SP captain Fabiana Claudino:

“Volero did a great job today. We had to do some changes in our game plan as we had some problems with their defense and strong attacks. We struggled after this wrong decision made by the referees in the fourth set. Nevertheless, we came back as team. It’s an important medal for all of us. We are a young club and I’m sure that we will grow as team. This Bronze medal is the crown of an incredible season. Every medal has its special value and this one is just beautiful for me.”

Volero Zurich assistant coach Jan Lindenmair:

“Today’s game is just one of them which would have deserved to have to have two winners. I mean you almost can’t lose tighter than we did today. We did our best, but weren’t sometimes as courageous as the Brazilians. Nevertheless, I think as it was such a tight game, I don’t think you can say that the reason for the loss is one or another point. We played a good tournament, but couldn’t thank our great supporters with a medal.”

Volero Zurich captain Mira Golubovic:

“We gave our best, but it wasn’t enough. The game was so tight and we had our opportunities. We tried to fight our way back and were so near. I wanted to win this Bronze medal, even more as this is my last game after a long career and I wanted to thank the club and the fans with a victory. However, it shouldn’t be.”
