Brazil's Molico/Osasco power past Volero Zurich (SUI) for Women's Club World Champs final spot

Molico/Osasco celebrating the qualification to the final of the Women's Club Championship

 Zurich, Switzerland, May 10, 2014- Brazil's Molico/Osasco continued their magnificent performance at the FIVB Women's Club World Championship with a hard-fought win over Switzerland's Volero Zurich 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-16, 25-20) in the semifinal of the competition held at Saalsporthalle in Zurich, Switzerland on Saturday.

 Molico/Osasco qualified to the final spot of the competition to be held on Sunday at 16:30 local time (14:30 GMT) with the winner from Russia's Dinamo Kazan v Brazil's SESI-SP, while Volero Zurich play for the bronze medal at 14:00 local time. 

Molico played a high-spirit game in the first set, but suddenly Volero caught fire to dominate the second set before again the Brazilian team regained their rhythm to win the third and fourth sets

Molico's big gun Sheilla Castro finished as the top scorer of the winning side with 16 points, including one block and two Aces. Middle blocker Silva Adenizia contributed 15 while outside hitter Sanja Malagurski 11. Kenia Carcaces was the big weapon of Volero with 18 points followed by Olesia Rykhliuk 11.

Molico also had a slight dominance in dying blocks with 9-7 dominance and in Aces 6-5.

 Molico started aggressively so they led 4-0 due to efficient spikes from Sanja Malagurski who scored 5 points in the first 10 for her team as they led 8-5 at the first TTO. Volero quickly came back with a quick spike from veteran Mira Golubovic to decrease the point deficit till they led second TTO 16-14 with a lot of cheers from their supporters. Volero stayed ahead in the score with their opposite Olesia Rykhliuk practicing her role in spiking from position 2. Molico game on time with their middle blocker Thaisa Menezes scoring 3 crucial times from quick attacks as Molico continued to win the set 25-21.

 Volero started more active in the second set as they as outside hitter Kenia Carcaces practiced her role to score from sharp spikes from position 4 to lead 8-6 at the first TTO. Molico tried to come back using the experience of Sheilla Castro, but Volero were disciplined in defence as they keep leading 16-14 in the second TTO. Kenia and Olesia continued their magnificent action to conduct their team to win the set 25-18 to draw 1-1.

 Molico again started actively in the third set with Sheilla shifting to position 4 as an outside hitter and Caterina Bosetti playing as opposite spiker. Molico led 8-5 in the first TTO and then 16-12 in the second TTO. Volero tried to recover, but the Brazialn team was at the utmost performance to win the set 25-16 after Sheilla scored 6 points and Adenizia Silva 5.

 Volero regained their rhythm in the fourth set improving their blocking and also using the strong attacks through the wing spikers to lead 8-7 at the FTT. Molico rebounded quickly and used the errors of their opponent to lead 14-11 and continued their way to lead 16-13 at the second TTO with a strong hit from Sheilla. Volero's attacker Karla Klaric did a fantastic job with her sharp spikes to come closer 18-17. Molico widened the score to 22-18 as Volero fought bravely to come back and theey succeeded to decrease the gap to 22-20
