Experience tip the scales for UPCN

Argentina's UPCN celebrate the victory over Kal-Kalleh

Betim, Brazil, October 18, 2013 – The experience played a key role as UPCN of Argentina were able to close the well contested sets of the match against Iran´s Kal-Kalleh on Friday.

Demian Gonzales, captain of UPCN: We are very happy even though we were already qualified. It was a tough match against a strong team like the Iranian. We took advantage of some of their mistakes and now we are prepared to play in the semifinals, no matter who is the opponent.

Alireza Nadi, captain of Kal-Kalleh: We could have won this match but the same mistakes of the two previous matches continued today. I think that with the experience we got here, we will be a better team next year.

Fabian Armoa: It was pretty evened match and the difference was our experience to close the sets. It was a good match between two teams with good attack. One team was qualified and the other not but here all the teams are champions and have the fire to win, at least have the attitude. We are happy about winning the pool and congratulations to Kal-Kalleh for a good performance.

Re: A possible match against Sada Cruzeiro:
We know a lot about Sada Cruzeiro and they know a lot about us. They are the favorites and have the support of the crowd, but the fans don’t play so will be six against six.

Re: The rivalry between Argentina and Brazil:
Anytime we come to play to Brazil, they treat us very well, and it is the same when they go to Argentina. The rivalry is a soccer rivalry.

Mohamed Ben Mustapha, coach of Kal-Kalleh: It was the same as the other matches. We had a good start and played well until halfway but not very good at the end. That’s the sign of a team with low experience. Individually they are very good but as a team they make many mistakes. This tournament has a high quality and the experience will be very important for us. Congratulations to the team of Argentina and I wish them the best of luck in the semifinals.
