Press conference

Cuba beat Bulgaria 3-2 (20-25, 18-25, 25-22, 31-29, 15-13) - duration 2:04
23-May, start time: 6:07 - Attendance: 4,700
Eliseo Ramos Rivas - head coach of Cuba
This match was very good for us. We know that we will play against a strong team like Bulgaria. We are very young team and than I am happiness that we won the match. We played very aggressive , as well as I want my players to do.

Pavel Pimienta, Cuba's captain:
I expected our team to play good, and after that to win that game. I am very glad that we managed to win and I am also happy, because we were practicing very much for our participation in the League.

Milorad Kijac - head coach of Bulgaria:
It is difficult when you lose a game that is almost won. We lost our concentration for a moment and that turned fatal for us. We had the chance of winning 3:0 or 3:1 but it couldn't happened. My boys gave all of their best, but Cuba is serious team too. I hope that we will win the second match at home. We have to make our play and that must be successful. When the team loses, always the coach is responsible. I don't think that it was my tactical or other fault. We just made too many mistakes, some of which were very basic. Fantastic audience.

Nikolay Ivanov, Bulgaria's captain:
We just made the impossible thing. We lost a match that was won for us. We played in a hall with beautiful audience and this was very important for us to win. Nine years ago we also started badly in the World league, but we finished fourth - our best classification in the competition. I hope the things will repeat this year.
