USA coach Alan Knipe totally delighted with performance of his back lines

Team USA opted for some back-up players for the match with Tunisia but this did not affect the final result at all

London, Great Britain, August 6, 2012 – US American coach Alan Knipe opted for some of his back-up players for the last preliminary match with Tunisia. “We have some guys who haven’t played much who are extremely talented and they’re fresh, full of energy and delighted to get their opportunity. I think there has been some really good things to come out of the pool stage and that’s a good example”. Next stop for Team USA will be in the 1/4 finals with Italy: “We have some time to get together and prepare for that. They are a really good serving team. They (Italy) will look at our videos and look at what weaknesses they can exploit and we will do the same”.
Captain Clayton Stanley added: “We can’t take anything for granted. They have great players who’ve all played in the top league in Italy. They’re kind of struggling at the moment, though, I think. This tournament has been pretty good for us with the exception of two and a quarter bad sets against Russia”.

“We played against the Olympic champions, so the result was totally logical. We are amateurs. We are not at the level, but we tried to do our best” stresses Tunisia coach Fethi Mkaouar. “We really tried in the first three matches, but this opponent was too difficult with a lot of experience. They play as professionals. For us, the Olympic Games is a way to learn the technical and tactical approaches. We can’t have a good level without doing matches against big teams. It is a good chance to play teams like this, because they never want to play friendly matches against us”.
