Vladimir Alekno, Coach of Russia: It was a very important game because it was great experience for the guys and there were certain elements in that game that will be useful in future.
On what he said to his team at the end of the second set:
It wasn't what was said that was important, because very little was said. It was the substitutions - the substitutions were very important.
Maxim Mikhaylov, Player of Russia:
On what the coach said after the second set:
Not to think about the result, not to make any mistakes and to just play freely.
On the change of strategy in the third set:
The most important one was to substitute players, like taking off (Alexander) Butko for (Sergey) Grankin.
On scoring 27 points:
I was only happy after the first set because after the second I made too many mistakes.
Russell Holmes, Player of United States: I thought they made some good adjustments. They brought guys in and we didn't adjust well and adapt well to the changes they were making.
On the first two sets, which USA won:
I thought we played really well in the first two sets: we served well and we defended well.
On what needs improvement:
The mental aspect of this game needed to be better. We need to forget about this match, mentally reset our minds and move forward.
