McCutcheon praises caliber of Megan Hodge

It was a team-effort from USA in the victory over China

Hugh McCutcheon, Coach of USA: It was a great team win. That's really what this is about. Coming here and going into battle.

On the impact of Megan Hodge:
She is very composed in the big moments. She always feels comfortable when the match or the set is on the line. We were very happy with her performance and the positive impact she made when we brought her on.

Megan Hodge, Player of USA: It was a great atmosphere and we played really, really well.

Foluke Akinradewo, Player of USA: What an amazing game. We showed the team (China) what we are made of. China were a really great team and they get a lot of support, especially tonight.

On coping with the difficulties of the match:
We've been down (in sets) many times this season and for many teams when this happens you start to worry and don't concentrate, but we just tried and take each moment at a time and stay calm.

Danielle Scott-Arruda, Player of USA: I just love the composure of our team in every position. Everyone played an important part.

On playing in her fifth Olympic Games:
You can't compare this team to the other four Olympic teams I've played for, because systems and tactics change, but this is a great team. As I have currently won only one Olympic medal I am hoping we will go through for gold.

Yu Juemin, Coach of China: The opponent is the strongest of all our rivals. The experience of our team is not as good as the USA.

On the upcoming match against Brazil:
Brazil is one the greatest in the world. We have been preparing until now to meet the USA. From tomorrow we will have specific training to target the match against Brazil.

Wei Qiuyue, Captain of China: In the three sets we had a chance of winning, but in the important points we were weak. Their (USA) serve is really good and their strong serves made it difficult for us to defend. This match will make us think and analyze how we should play in the future.
