FIVB VOLLEYBALL WOMEN'S U20 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The FIVB Volleyball Women’s U20 World Championship is held every two years, allowing the future leading ladies of the sport the chance to compete on the world stage. Established for players under 21 years old, the Women’s U21 World Championship helps players develop their game further and also gives them a chance to earn a call-up to the senior squads. In 2013, the tournament took place in Brno, Czech Republic from June 21 to 30. World No. 1 China clinched their second FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship title in history with perfect 8-0 match and 24-0 set records. Japan, ranked ninth in the world, ended with silver, the best result ever since their silver medal 1985 in Milan, Italy. Brazil claimed bronze with a fantastic straight-set victory over Italy.
