FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL SWATCH WORLD TOUR

The FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour was first organised in 1989 with just three participating countries (Brazil, Japan and Italy). It is now in its 24th season and will feature nine Grand Slams for the first time in its history with approximately 51 participating countries, more than 1,500 active registered athletes and over $7.40m in prize money. The World Tour is an annual series of international beach volleyball tournaments with men and women’s competitions (Grand Slam and Open) sanctioned by the FIVB and promoted by the FIVB and its organisers. The 2012 calendar began in April in Brazil before finishing in Thailand in October.
