FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL SWATCH JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH Junior World Championships was first established in 2001 and since then it has helped provide the stepping stone for many players looking to move onto the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour. Players such as Spain’s Pablo Herrera and Brazil’s Juliana Felisberta da Silva, now regular winners on the World Tour, first started their careers at the Junior World Championships, and both won the event in 2002. With this in mind, the tournament is a hotbed for talent and many of the athletes that compete do move onto the World Tour. The 2012 edition returned to Halifax, Canada, which became the first city to host two consecutive Junior World Championships. Poland's Kantor/Losiak, and Betschart/Vergé-Dépré of Switzerland claimed the Men’s and Women’s 2012 FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH Junior World Championship titles respectively
