FIVB VOLLEYBALL BOYS' U19 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The biennial FIVB Volleyball Boys’ Youth World Championship is the first chance young volleyball players get at competing on the world stage, offering them the perfect opportunity to exhibit their skills. Established in 1989 the tournament has seen some of today’s veterans come through it, with some of the world’s best under 19 players competing. In 2011, the tournament took place in Argentina from August 19 to 28. Serbia maintained their perfect record in this age-group tournament with two gold medals in two appearances in the history of the competition. In 2013, the competition took centre stage in Tijuana and Mexicali in Mexico. European champions Russia added a World Championship title to their collection with a 3-1 victory over China while Poland clinched bronze.
