WOMEN
’S Main draw
It was like two different Beach Volleyball tourna-
ments at one SWATCH FIVB World Tour stop for Mi-
sty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh in capturing their
third Henkel Grand Chelem gold medal in four years
on the Champs de Mars. With a 21-13 and 21-13 win
in 36 minutes over 11th-seeded Tyra Turner and
Rachel Wacholder, May-Treanor and Walsh started
the US$600,000 Henkel Grand Chelem competition
by defeating teams from France, Cuba, Germany
and Austria before finishing with three-straight vic-
tories over American rivals to share the $43,500
first-place prize.
Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers won the men’s fi-
nale to give the United States both SWATCH gold
medals in the French capital and the U.S. pair its
first World Tour win of 2008. For the SWATCH most
outstanding player awards, Rogers joined May-Tre-
anor as the top competitors for the Henkel Grand
Chelem that was held in the shadow of the Eiffel
Tower.
