The FIVB has called on national federations
to take part in this year’s ‘Volley All Festival’,
an annual worldwide event where young
people get together to play volleyball in their
cities, public parks and other locations used by
the local community. Since its inception four
years ago, the event has served to promote
volleyball and beach volleyball at the national
level by attracting public interest through TV
and Media coverage and the support of local
authorities and potential sponsors.

CEV vacancies to this year’s FIVB Girls' Youth
World Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima,

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)
has issued an alert, warning about the
health risks of the black market substance
GW501516. The agency warning is
addressed to athletes, sports organisations
and anti-doping bodies to ensure complete
awareness of the possible health risks of using
GW501516 for performance enhancement.
The developmental drug has been available
for some months on the black market,
through the internet and elsewhere. Anti-
Doping authorities have already detected its
use, having identified a number of positive
cases among athletes.
Rules of the Game

now available in French, Spanish and Arabic
in addition to English, and those for beach
volleyball in French and Russian. Major
changes to the document – revised for the
period – include reverting to the
previous use of yellow and red cards and an
extension of libero freedom.

John Speraw, two-time Olympic assistant
coach, has been named programme coach
for the US men’s national volleyball team.
It was also announced that beach volleyball
star Matt Fuerbringer will join Speraw’s team
as assistant coach.

Federation appointed Lokomotiv’s Andrei
Voronkov as coach of the men’s national
Renowed Chinese volleyball player, Chen
Zhaodi, has died aged 58. Zhaodi helped
China win the women's Volleyball World Cup
in 1981 and the Volleyball Championship in

these festivals from 2009 to 2012. Last year
alone, a total of 505,159 people attended
