Kenya setting sights high
Kenya’s beach volleyball players set themselves some lofty targets for
the year 2013 and beyond.
Kenya’s female teamof GaudenciaMakokha and Naomie Too qualified
for the inaugural FIVB Beach Volleyball U23 World Championships in
Myslowice through the African Federation’s (CAVB) tournament for
north, central and east Africa. There were high hopes for the duo
who the Federation hoped would build on the lessons learned in the
tournament for future success.

Julius Brink
Olympic beach volleyball champion Julius Brink took the beach
volleyball world by surprise when he announced his separation from
partner Sebastian Fuchs and his decision to team with Germany’s up-
and-coming player, Armin Dollinger.
No one can deny that things have been difficult for Brink following
the 2012 Olympic Games in London where he made history by being
the first European to win beach volleyball Olympic gold with partner
Jonas Reckerman.
Olympic Champion Brink has a lot to look forward to as he starts preparations for
next year’s beach volleyball season with new partner Armin Dollinger
