Zambian children get special coach
for the day
Children in Zambia’s volleyball coaching program received a visit from
a special coach recently, in the form of the 2012 Miss USA, Nana
Meriwether. Her appearance was part of a scheme set up by the
Zambian Volleyball Federation that involves building relationships
with external parties, in this case the USA Embassy in Zambia.
The program took place in Livingstone, Zambia’s tourist capital and
host town of the Victoria Falls and 98 children and 10 teachers took
place in the one-day program which aims to promote volleyball
among young girls living in rural areas.

Tomis Constanta enjoy hi-five
in Romanian volleyball
Romanian volleyball was dominated by one team this season as Tomis
Constanta not only played in their first Champions League, but also
won a league and cup double and national titles at U15, U17 and
U19 level, a rare and unique experience.
First came the national league title following a 3-2 (21-25, 25-21,
33-35, 25-22,
and 15-9) win over SCMU Craiova that guarantees
Constanta’s participation in the 2014 CEV Volleyball Champions
League. The team went unbeaten from January 1, 2013 with a
winning run of 18 matches and only eight dropped sets along the
Tomis Constanta capped a great season by winning the national cup to go with
the Romanian league title
