Volleyball continues to grow in popularity in the Land of the Long
White Cloud, where the National Schools Championships took place
from March 17 to 22. In total over 2,000 Kiwi players and coaches
took part in the week long competition that centred on one court that
hosted 20 matches per day. Otumoetai College Girls A won the female
competition after beating Christchurch Girls’ High School in the gold
medal match. In the boys’ final Tauranga Boys’ College A defeated
Western Heights High School to claim the gold medal.
