New-look VolleyWorld
for new era
Welcome to the second edition of the new-look
VolleyWorld magazine, our flagship publication.
In these pages you will find interesting stories and
stunning imagery that combine to help promote the
beauty and athleticism of our sport. Just as the FIVB
is evolving in this new era, VolleyWorld is making
significant changes which reflect the new direction
of the FIVB.
Our communication efforts are geared more and more
towards a target audience which expects new information
on a regular basis. Our website and our various social
media platforms are catering for the daily delivery of
news and entertainment from the volleyball world, while
our monthly newsletter,
,
is now
published online twice each month.
VolleyWorld, hitherto printed and published online six
times a year in six languages, will now appear every
month with the important addition of Chinese to a family
of languages that already comprises Arabic, English,
French, Russian, Portuguese and Spanish. This was
something we introduced two years ago, and last year
saw further changes to the format which increased the
visual appeal of VolleyWorld.
While VolleyWorld has gone electronic, again reflecting
a more modern approach, the online edition that you
will continue to find here on fivb.org contains more
interactivity including links to other parts of the website
as well as other places on the internet. In this way we
will make VolleyWorld available to everyone, whereas in
the past it has been more directed towards the volleyball
family. We have a great sport, and it is our responsibility
to make sure that more and more people know about it.
The world of communications is an incredibly fast-moving
one, and we will continue to monitor the ways in which
we deliver VolleyWorld to you, as well as our other
publications. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading
this edition of VolleyWorld and that it will inspire you to
start playing, to play more often or simply to come and
watch one of our fantastic events around the world.
