World Congress   FIVB Congress officially recognises FE.V.A as new national federation for Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in Argentina Porto, Portugal, May 12, 2004 – The FIVB Congress officially agreed the affiliation of FE.V.A - Federacion del Voleibol Argentino - as the new governing body of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in Argentina on Wednesday. This followed an overwhelming vote to expel definitively the former national federation FAV, which had been suspended since May 2003. The FIVB President, Executive Committee members and delegates emphasised that this decision – and earlier efforts by the FIVB to resolve this issue – were taken to ensure the full participation of Argentinean Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in all international competitions. It was noted that the provisional solutions adopted by the FIVB had allowed Argentinean players to participate in the Olympic qualification process, and that the Argentinean men’s team had qualified.
