Italy
The
history of the Italian Boy's Youth
national team is short but, just like
their national team, is full of success.
Its first official participation was in
1995 at the European Championships in
Barcelona, where it was defeated 3-1 in
the final match by Russia.
In the same year Italy also won the
silver medal at the World Championship in
Puerto Rico behind Brazil.
In the summer of 1997 Italy conquered
the World Championships in Teheran and
then the European Championships in
Slovakia.
In 2003 in Zagreb Italy won the bronze
medal at the European Championship and
will be one of the favourites heading into
the 2003 Boy's U19 World Championship in
Thailand.
