Milagros Cabral had 18 spikes and finished with 21 points leading the way for the Dominicans who had four players in double figures.
In the first set, the Dominicans led 8-7 and stretched to 12-9 with two spikes from Yudelkis Bautista and a block by Prisilla Rivera, who had 7 for the match. With the score tied at 14, Pinedo served long and Bautista had a block before Corisis Rodriguez extended the lead to three points. Attack by Cabral and block from Rivera closed the set.
In the second set, Argentina jumped ahead 6-4 with spikes from Karina Pacheco and Pinedo and ace by Maria Vicente, but two quick kills by Annerys Vargas tied the score and Bautista send her team to the top with two bombs. Argentina came back and tied at 20 and 22, but a long serve by Vicente, ace from Cabral and block from Rivera decided the outcome.
In the third, Vicente staged a show with her lightning jumping service creating a lot of problems in the Dominican side who also gave away four points with their serves.
In the fourth, Cabral erased a two point deficit with four consecutive missile shots to send her side on top 10-8. The scored was even 13 times and at 24-24, Bautista spiked and blocked for the victory while Cabral accounted for 10 of her 21 points.
