The Turks established their game early with strong blocking and the firepower provided by their ace pair Natalia Hanikoglu and Demir and Korea never showed signs to be a contender. In the first set, with the score 9-8 in favor of Korea, Hanikoglu blocked and spiked for the lead and at 11-10, she added a cannon shot and two aces to inflate the margin to 14-10. Hanikoglu, who had nine points in the set, scored the last two of the opening stage. In the second set, Turkey took a 8-4 lead behind two spikes and two aces by Demir. With an 11-6 advantage, they committed several defensive mistakes linked to a couple of attacks by Park Mee-Kyung for a 12-12 tie. Turkey recovered with consecutive blocks by Ozlem Ozcelik and Demir, followed by spikes from Demir and Esra Gumus and one ace by Ozcelik for a definitive advantage. The third set saw Esra Gumus starting with three spikes and Natalia scoring one ace for a 6-2 lead, and Ozbek had a hot streak scoring four of five Turkisk points for a 11-3 lead that paved the way for the victory.. The righthander Hanikoglu and the lefthander Demir had 18 points apiece while Aysun Ozbek contributed with 15. Koreans Lim Yu-Jin and Yang Sook-Kyung had 12 and 10 respectively.
