Dominican Republic beat Egypt 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-19) - duration 0:59
14-Nov, start time: 18:05, end time: 19:04 - Attendance: 605
Milagros Cabral and Prisilla Rivera led a well balanced Dominican offense with 14 points apiece followed by Yudelkis Bautista and Cosiris Rodriguez with 12 and 11 respectively. As usual Toson Hussein led Egypt with 20 points. The Dominicans jumped to an 8-1 lead in the first set with consistent blocking by Rivera, Cabral and Bautista, who finished the period with 6 points. In the second, with the score even at 6, Egypt took the lead by a long service from Rivera, but the Dominicans went ahead behind attacks from Bautista and Annerys Vargas. With two spikes and a serve by Bautista and touch by Cabral the margin bettered to 14-8. In the end, Kenia Moreta came from the bench to score three of the last four points. Moreta and Rodriguez provided the spark for an 8-2 start in the third set and despite the effort by Toson, the final outcome was predictable.
