Demir was the choice as the Most Important Player and really deserved the recognition as she was head and shoulders above everyone on the court. In the first set Turkey took a three point lead (11-8) with a spike by Natalia Hanikoglu and a couple of attacks by Demir increased the margin to 14-10. With the score 20-14, Egypt made a five-point rally led by three spikes of Toson Hussein to come within one point, but Natalia and Demir coupled to give Turkey room to breath and prevail by five points. In the second set, two spikes and one ace by Demir contributed to an 8-3 start for the Turkish team and the gates opened for a flood of all caliber shots. At 20-9, Toson took charge for Egypt and send some good shots to the Turkey side but her effort was in vain. The third set took the same pattern despite the fact coach Yaziciogullari rotated his bench and sent a cluster of players around Demir, who scored three of the last five points for Turkey. Demir finished with 17 points and Sinem Akap added 10. Toson Hussein, the Egyptian captain, led all the scorers with 22.
