Women's World Cup 2003 - Press Conference

Press conference

China beat Italy 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-20) - duration 1:13
14-Nov, start time: 15:00, end time: 16:13 - Attendance: 3,831
BONITTA Marco (Italian head coach)
The Chinese team is the strongest one in the world. They won all the competitions in this summer. Players will be the same next year. We tried to play better than yesterday, but the difference between the Chinese team and the Italian team is obviously big.

PICCININI Francesca (Italian player)
The Chinese team played the game at their best in blocking and other defensive plays. They were superb in other matches as well. They do not lack anything. They are marvelously good at receiving, too. I would like to say "Congratulations" to the Chinese team for having got a ticket to the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens.

CHEN Zhonghe (Chinese head coach)
We showed all our power and played well on the whole. Especially we succeeded in delivering quick offensive plays. The Italian squad is excellent. We will compete with the Japanese team in the next match, and do our best.

ZHAO Ruirui (Chinese player)
We were well prepared through hard work to fight against Italian team which is one of the strongest teams in the world. We were able to stay calm as usual and overcome pressure. We felt that we were becoming stronger by overcoming pressure. We will play against Japanese team with much experience in the next and last match, so we will do our best.
