Women's World Cup 2003 - Press Conference

Press conference

Brazil beat U.S.A. 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-20) - duration 1:14
14-Nov, start time: 12:30, end time: 13:44 - Attendance: 1,501
YOSHIDA Toshiaki (USA head coach)
We played very hard but in vain. The Brazilian team was smart and did very well against us. They are strong and today is another great day for them. We were not able to successfully respond to their attacking and serving. We are disappointed to lose the match. If we still have a chance, we would like to do our best in the last match.

SCOTT Danielle (USA captain)
First of all I would like to say "Congratulations" to the Brazilian team. They played better than us. It was disappointing that we failed to get our rhythm in the third set.

GUIMARAES Jose (Brazilian head coach)
I am happy that we have secured a berth in the Olympic Games in Athens. Our dream has been realized and our duty has been achieved. We played with consistency. This match is the best in the World Cup Volleyball 2003 for us. We performed well in receiving serves and attacking.

VENTURINI (Brazilian captain)
All of us are pleased that we have got a ticket to Athens. In the previous matches, one or another player was not in good shape, but every one of us was able to do her best, so I feel satisfied. The USA team must have been tired after the tough match against the Chinese team they lost with 3-2 yesterday. Their fatigue helped us serve and attack successfully.
