Singapore, Singapore, August 24, 2010 - Cuba were excited to advance to the finals. Serbia were pleased with their effort, and hope to play as strongly in the third-place match on Wednesday.
Serbia captain Sinisa Zarkovic: “That was a great match. I want to congratulate Cuba. They proved to be the better team. That was the best we played in the tournament. We will go for the bronze medal tomorrow.”
Serbia coach Milan Djuricic was happy with his team’s performance: “That was the best game we have played. We want to play the same against Russia. I want to congratulate the Cuban team for winning.”
Cuba coach Rodolfo Sanchez: “I first want to thank my team, and also Serbia because they are an excellent team. We knew that the game would be difficult, and we had to play at our highest level to win.”
Cuba captain Alexis Lamadrid: “We had to play good against Serbia because they are a difficult team. We had to play as a team to reach our goal.”
