Singapore, Singapore, August 25, 2010 – Boys’ Youth Olympic Games Serbia v Russia press conference

Serbia captain Sinisa Zarkovic: “What we have learnt from this tournament is that we are not at the same level as the other teams, and we have to work in order to not repeat the same mistakes we did here. We went here with high expectations, but we didn’t know how strong the other teams were. Now we know that the fourth place is the one that fits for us.”

Serbia coach Milan Djuricic: “I have to congratulate Russia because they played so well, instead we didn’t, we made a lot of mistakes, in serving and receiving. I think that Russia, Argentina and Cuba are the best teams of this tournament, so it is right that they are on the podium.”

Russia captain Konstantin Osipov: “At the beginning we started playing nervously because we were so involved in this match, but then we relaxed and did less mistakes. During the challenges I thought that every ball was like the last one, and I had to play at my best.”

Russian coach Andrei Kukushkin: “Today it was a hard job, after the first set we increased our play and as a result we started scoring better points. We wanted this bronze desperately, and we did it.”
