The sterling effort of the local organizing committee in organizing the Youth Olympic Games and the Volleyball tournament in particular has already led to fruitful discussions between the FIVB and the Volleyball Association of Singapore.
:
“The FIVB are now having discussions with the Volleyball Association of Singapore about the possibilities to arrange one leg of the World Grand Prix tournament in Singapore, because we were so impressed of their job during the Youth Olympic Games and the impact the tournament has had on progressing youth Volleyball in the future,” Mr. Marte explained.

He also congratulated the IOC and the IOC President Mr Jacques Rogge, who watched the Volleyball finals, for the great success of the Youth Olympic Games and the collaboration during the Games. “We worked hand in hand as a team, and everything worked well without problems. About the tournament I can say that we met a group of boys and girls who will be the next generation of champions. All the teams played very well and the public saw a fantastic show.

“The FIVB started a development program in January 2010 to bring Volleyball in to the schools all over the world. We want to extend this program to all the five continents because we believe in young people, and this huge program is all for them”, Mr. Marte expressed.
