Singapore, Singapore, August 23, 2010 - USA v Egypt press conference quotes.
Egypt captain Salma Elmohands: “The game was perfect and so much fun. I wish we would have won, but we played well. I am satisfied.”

Egypt coach Mohamed Badrawy: â€œIt was a perfect performance. The skills of the USA were impressive.”

USA captain Samantha Cash: “It was a great match, other than the beginning of set three. We learned to push through and play hard.”

USA’s coach Rod Wilde: “We got it done, but it wasn’t pretty. They decided that they wanted it. As a coach, I try to give them inspiration, but they have to want it. When we they want it, they get it. But when they don’t play well against the top teams, they will lose.” “I am happy that we are in the semi-finals with an opportunity to win a medal. We are still developing and finding our identity, but we played very well.”

Rod Wilde is looking forward to the semifinal:
“Japan is skilled. They will make us play the ball multiple times, so it might take two or three swings to get a kill. Physically, we have an advantage, but their skills can counterbalance that unless we play well. We need to serve well.”
