Peru participated in the South American Youth Championship in 2008, and qualified for the FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship in 2009 in Thailand. They ranked sixth which moved them up to eighth place in the Youth World Rankings.
In June 2010 the country hosted the second Latin Cup welcoming Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay. The side topped the tables at the end of the tournament, finishing first and picking up the title.
The team then took part in the XV Princess Cup in Thailand, eventually finishing sixth.
The side has one goal for the Youth Olympic Games: A medal finish.
