“We came here for the gold medal” said Iran coach Naser Shahnazi

Iran claimed the fifth place in the YOG 2010 winning over DR Congo. Iran capten M.Ramin Khani and coach Naser Shahnazatt the press interview after the match.

Singapore, Singapore August 25. “We came here for the gold medal” This was the last thing that the head coach of Iran, Naser Shahnazi said at the press conference after their win against DR Congo.

“We did good, playing better than the other matches, but we have to face with the strength of the teams in our preliminary pool. After that we have new players in our team who are not used to these important competitions, yet.”

Captain of DR Congo, Maxime Kazadi: “The first two matches we played very well, but today we were under our usual standards.”

Coach  Jean Claude Kinsama Eanga on the other hand, was almost satisfied of his team: “We are a young team, it’s the first time for all of us in such an important stage like the Olympic Games, but I think we did a good job, especially in the first two matches. Now we have to work harder and harder to be ready for the next competitions.”

Captain of Iran, M.Ramin Khani, said: “We are able to defeat every team here as we did in the past, but our last match against Cuba was very hard, I think they will be the gold medalist.”

Coach Naser Shahnazi: “We came here to win the gold medal, but it didn’t happened, so I am sad, and disappointed about that.”
