Serbian coach says team benefited from Germany's poor receptions

Germany captain Anna Hoja: "The first set was a real nightmare; our reception was extremely bad through the whole match. I expect a tough match against Thailand, they are a very good team, they defend very well and with them rallies are extremely long. We’ll give our best."

Germany coach Stefan Brauer: "Congratulations to the Serbian team, they played a great match. Our reception was really awful and we definitely have to find the key to improve that skill for tomorrow against Thailand, otherwise we’ll be hampered once again."

Serbian captain Danica Radenkovic: "We played a great first set, then in the second and third we slowed a little bit down, but all in all I am happy. I think we still have some margin to improve for the rest of the tournament."

Serbia coach Marjana Mirosavljevic: "I am happy with the final outcome, but our attack was not really excellent, and way too slow. The bad performance of the Germans in reception definitely helped us in clinching this match. I expect that we’ll win against Egypt and quite a tough job against Thailand. They have been training very hard and are well conditioned and focused, plus they have the crowd as additional player. We’ll do our best, we definitely came to Thailand to get a medal and this remains our purpose."
