"That's the first time in history Turkey defeats China in three sets"

China’s captain Di Yao: “Congratulations to the Turkish team. They fully deserved this victory. We played better than yesterday against Peru but still we did not show our full potential. I still hope we can improve day by day until the end of this World Championship. Most of my mates are playing their first international matches, so they are very nervous and anxious and can not display all their skills”.

Coach Jiaqin Wang: “I am not satisfied, since we did not play at our best. After yesterday’s defeat the girls were anxious to perform better and that pressure did not let them play as good as they can. The Turkish team has strong spikers and they deserved this victory. We’ll use the remaining matches as a good chance to gain experience and put into practice what we did in our training sessions”.
The Chinese team manager informed that the main spiker of the team got injured during the training session scheduled for this morning; being probably stressed and fatigued, she did not land properly after a hit and got a terrible pain in his ankle, so that finally she had to stay at the hotel.

Turkey’s captain Kestirengoz: “We are definitely glad for this result. It is the first time in history I suppose that Turkey defeated China in three straight sets. Tomorrow we’ll go for another win against Peru and we hope to continue our winning streak as long as possible”.

Coach Ismail Yengil: “I like very much the way the Chinese play, they are so fast! If they receive well, the ball moves so quickly to the first row and with so many offensive variations that you can not figure out where to place your block. We served extremely well, so we caused serious troubles to their reception and that was for me the key of the match”.
