Dancing boys from Puerto Rico
Last match, last chance for a victory - but for the guys from Algeria this dream did not come true. Puerto Rico won the match for place 15 in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-22). While this represents Puerto Rico has four places off worse than at the World Championship two years ago, the players celebrated by setter Javier Perez on the field as if they had just become world champion and sang the hit "Vamos a la playa." Their Libero Jose Miguel Mulero, with 170 cm height, the smallest player in the tournament, was now quite large.

The Algerian players have had in the three sets no more strength to defend themselves against defeat. The team of coach Abdelhakim Djehiche had a lead in the first set with 8-6, 16-14 and 21-20, but at the end of Puerto Rico had more power in all the elements, and won with 25-23.

In the following two sets Algeria has only once (8-6 lead in set three), but that's it then. Puerto Rico was almost twice as many block points (13-7) and was also successful in the attack (34-30).

Best scorer of the team for the winner was Cristian Rivera with 14 points (twelve attacks, one block, one reserve). For Algeria Raouf Nedjar scored the most points (9, eight attacks, one reserve).
