The Press Conference organized after the second match of the fifth weekend in the Pool B of the 2010 World League, between Serbia and France in the city of Belgrade, Serbia, was attended by Mr. Igor Kolakovic, Head Coach of Serbia, Mr. Philippe Blain, Head Coach of France, Mr. Bojan Janic, Team Captain of Serbia, and Mr. Olivier Kieffer, Team Captain of France.
Mr. Janic, Team Captain of Serbia:"We knew this would be a very difficult match. I think we were not focused enough to win today, but still we are in the good position to qualify for the Final Tournament, and before the start of the competition we could have only dreamt about having this score prior to the last weekend. Everything is in our hands, and with the win over Italians we are good to go to Argentina. We will do our best to achieve that goal."–
Mr. Kieffer, Team Captain of France: "Very important victory for us, because of the points we scored in the standings. We played as a team, and we reached our goal."
Mr. Kolakovic, Head Coach of Serbia: "I would like to congratulate the French team. We lacked freshness as the match was entering its final stages. I think we missed our opportunity in the first set, and we let the French team take control in their hands. We managed to recover a little bit by winning two sets in a row, but the pressure was too strong for us. We have to learn a valuable lesson from this defeat and we must focus on the matches with Italy, because the qualifying to the Final Tournament is in stake."
Mr. Blain, Head Coach of France: "Very important two points for us. We had good atmosphere in the team today, as a result of the yesterday’s meeting with the players were it was pointed out how important is the team spirit in these matches where the stakes are high. It resulted in a victory today, and I am proud of my players."
