Saleh Youssef says: 'I will be glad to finally get back to Egypt'

Egypt's fans rock the house at Cabarrus Arena in Concord, N.C.

Egyptian Captain Saleh Youssef: “I will be glad to finally get back to Egypt. Sure we are tired, but when we play, we forget about that. The U.S. team is very good. We have learned many things from them, especially their system. We hope to return to Egypt and win.”

U.S. Captain William “Reid” Priddy: “We have to raise our effort and the way we train. It’s not about losing the third set, it’s about how we lost. We had ball control errors. Wins start with good passing and we have to be mindful of that if we want to do big things.”

Egyptian Head Coach Antonio Giacobbe: “We are starting to get tired and injuries are a problem. That’s why we had to use other players tonight. As with all new teams and young teams, we are not consistent. We are up and down. Now we have six matches at home. I hope that we will show improvement.”

U.S. Head Coach Alan Knipe: “We didn’t play well in the third set either night. I’m extremely happy with the way we came back in the fourth set both nights. We need to play every set with the same sense of urgency, no matter what the score is.”
