Mexico head coach: "We next take on China. They are tall, but their defence is not good. I'm 70 percent sure of beating them."

Mexico head coach Ricardo de Jesus Nar: “We prepared well for this match against Dominican Republic. We wanted to win thee match and everyone in my team tried her best. After working hard for preparation and in the court performance, we eventually won the match. We next take on China, another Asian team like Japan, to whom we lost in the preliminaries. As far as I’m concerned, China is a good team, but their spiking and defence are not that good this time. They are tall and the net-play performance are only their main weapon. I’m 70 per cent sure of beating the Chinese.”

Captain Xitlali Herera: “I think China is like Japan, but the Chinese are well-organised. We will try our best to overcome their power and strength.”

Dominican Republic head coach Enrique Larrazaleta: “It’s a disaster for my team. My players did not play well. No one knows what happened. Among spiking and blocking, I think my girls did better in spiking. Against Egypt in the next match, I think we stand a better chance of winning.”

Captain Yeniffer Cristina Ramirez Edpinal: “We did not play well. We made too many hasty mistakes, especially in blocking and spiking.”
