"We definitely aim at playing the gold medal match" says Turkish coach

Thai captain Sutadta Chuewulim: “We had a good training session to prepare for this match and the girls that were sick yesterday are slightly recovering. I am not really sad, but still I think we could have performed better”.

Coach Kulchim Sanong: “I am basically satisfied with our performance; my girls are really tired and can not perform at the same level they showed at the beginning of the tournament. I do hope we can play for the fifth place: that would be quite a good result for Thailand here at the Worlds”.

Turkey’s captain Ceren Kestirengoz: “We did not start the match very well and personally I felt extremely tired, even though I do not know exactly why. There was quite a lot of pressure, because we were somehow obliged to score this victory to maintain our chances to make it to the semifinals. Now we’ll watch the match of Belgium against Italy and depending on the outcome of that game we might be already qualified for the semis”.

Coach Ismail Yengil: “During the official press conference I mentioned that we wanted to finish among the best four and we are very close to that target. Yesterday we defeated Italy for the first time after quite a few defeats; tomorrow we’ll play Belgium, they have always defeated us so far in five sets and I hope we can score another victory and invert the trend of the past. We definitely aim at playing the gold medal match, that’s why we came here”.
