China coach not satisfied

Bojan Janic, Igor Kolakovic, Jianan Zhou and Qiong Shen at the Press Conference in the Sports Hall Cair in Nis, Serbia

Jianin Zhu: "This was the first match in this compitition for our young team, and nervousness was obvious. I am not satisfied, but I do hope that this experience of tonight will contribute to a better match tomorrow."

Shen Qiong: "As I said yesterday, our team is quite young and inexperienced and to play against the Serbia is quite an experience. Our aim was to play the best we could. I sincerely hope we will be able to play much better on Sunday, with the experience we have now."

Igor Kolakovic, Serbia captain: "Let me first thank the wonderful public of Nis that made such great atmosphere for our young players, supporting them in their every point to the victory, helping the energy of the team. We are extremely satisfied with this first victory, but also with the way it was achieved. The players showed their highest possible level and we pushed the defense, although it seemed that we waited for the second set to settle itself, but that improved in the third set. The match in Belgrade will be more difficult. I remember China from last year in Italy when they lost their first match like tonight and beat Italy. I am sure that this experience will help us to play with the same energy on Sunday.

Bojan Janic, Serbia: "A lot was on stake tonight, being the first match and it meant a lot for the team to win. Even though the victory looks easy, it was certainly not, as it was evident in the second set. You give the side a little space and they will take full advantage of it. They are an extremely difficult team and you have to play with 100% concentration. We succeeded to keep up the concentration with only a couple of fall downs, but we’ll try to remedy that with more enthusiasm. I certainly hope we will be able to achieve that with the help of Belgrade public.
