"Real examination will be tomorrow against Thailand" comments Serbian coach

Egypt’s captain Walaa Amer: “We played against a very strong team and we were not able to keep up with our concentration all the match long. I have to say that we are very disappointed and my mates are blue”.

Coach Hesham Badrawy: “It was a tough match for us, I decided to change the setter at the beginning of the second set, but then there was some tension spreading among the girls, because the spikers wanted her to perform some skills she does not manage at the moment. I decided to change again at the end of the second set, but it was too late, the match was already over”.

Serbian captain Danica Radenkovic: “We tried to play at our best, it was not that easy as we were always leading the way, so sometimes we relaxed a bit and that brought Egypt backed into the match for a while. Tomorrow we’ll have a tough task against Thailand as they will rely on their fans and massive audience, but we’ll give our best, as this match decides the final standings of Pool A”.

Coach Marjana Mirosavljevic: “I think it was not a great match, both teams made a lot of mistakes, but all in all I am pretty satisfied. Our reception was pretty poor, but we worked well in attack and blocking. In the third set I replaced many players as I wanted all of them to feel the atmosphere of a World Championship, they are very young and the result was pretty safe, so I think I made the right step. Tomorrow we’ll have a real examination of our ambitions in the match against Thailand, but at least we have basically reached our first goal, i.e. to qualify for the 1/4 Finals. So far I think that Brazil, Belgium and Japan are the strongest teams I have seen here in Nakhon Ratchasima, it is going to be tough for us starting from the next round”.
