Eindhoven, July 9, 2010 - The Netherlands ended their first game of the final weekend of the 2010 FIVB World League campaign with another win over Korea defeating the visiting side 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23) in Eindhoven on Friday night.
Th hosts began well with hard attacks and good serving pressure as outside hitter Dick Kooy illustrated his attacking qualities. However Korean superstar Sung-Min Moon helped keep the visitors in touch with a sublime personal effort. However the Dutch held on to set an early benchmark for the Koreans.
Sung-Min Moon helped carry Korea to a 14-16 lead in the second set before hitting the final spike to bring the sides level at 2-0.
The Netherlands stabilised their passing in the third as setter Yannick van Harskamp distributed to his outside hitters well, helping solidify the block. With the side now in control the Dutch held the lead to move within one set of the win.
Korea's spirit remained high in the fourth as they eagerly kept up with the Dutch attack. But the individual class of the Dutch helped make the difference following quick attacks and an excellent passing and defensive performance which helped them clinch the win.
The Netherlands can look back on a good FIVB World League edition in a very hard pool while Korea finish their campaign winless.
