The Netherlands defeat determined Korea

Despite a passionate effort Korea weren't strong enough to overcome the Netherlands as the hosts recorded a straight-sets victory over their Asian hosts
Eindhoven, the Netherlands, July 8, 2010 - The Netherlands claimed a straight sets (31-29, 28-26, 25-21)  victory over Korea in their Pool A 2010 FIVB World League clash on Thursday in Eindhoven as the visitors remain winless in their campaign.

The Netherlands started well with a solid block and  powerful attacks. However the hosts made a number of errors in the second half of the set to allow Korea back into the game. However despite a tense final few points, the Dutch final moved two points ahead to take an early lead.

The home side increased the pressure from the serving line in the second and solid attacking saw the Dutch take an early lead remaining on top until set point. However Korea dug deep again and nearly stole the set before the Netherlands reacted and narrowly went into a 2-0 lead.

Korea used their momentum to take them into an early lead following some a fantastic defense and a number of smart attacks from outside hitter Shin and opposite player Moon. However the Netherlands moved back into the game thanks to solid blocking from middle blocker Wytze Kooistra before seeing out the set easily.

The two sides will meet again in their final match of this year's competition at 7.30pm local time in Eindhoven with nothing to play for but pride.
