Bulgaria overcome Korea in tight match

Despite a passionate display from Korea, Bulgaria ended the weekend with two wins
Varna, Bulgaria, June 27, 2010 - Bulgaria won their sixth match in a row in this year's FIVB World League defeating Korea 3-1 (31-29, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23) to keep the pressure on Brazil in Pool A.

The visitors pushed Bulgaria close and were always just one step away from a surprising victory.

The first set saw Sung Min Moon help propel his side to an early lead before hosts finally found a way through the set, going ahead at 31-29.

Bulgaria's blocking and digging faltered in the second set with only Tsvetan Sokolov, Todor Alexiev and captain Matey Kaziyski helping the hosts cause. However they eventually found their rhythm to pick up the second set in front of 3,500 spectators.

Korea came back with some smooth and leveled defence in the third set and with Sung Min Moon they claimed victory in the set 22-25.

However Bulgaria came back in the final set as Kaziyski lead the team with some very powerful attacks. However the Asian team still fought but could not hold back the Bulgarian attack as they picked up the win to tighten the gap between them and Brazil.
