After the match started with almost equal standards, Netherlands led the net action through their tall middle blockers until Turkey regained their motivations and used the wing spikers to retain the situation and extend the match to tiebreak which was settled by Netherlands at the crucial time. Netherlands center Nicole Koolhas was the match scorer with 17 points and the key factor in this victory with the opposite Lonneke Sloetjes who did a good job at the end of the match. Turkey players were more stable at the beginning of the match as they had better reception. The Turkish team arranged their attacks through the wing spikers to be away from the tall middle blockers of Netherlands and through this strategy Turkey went ahead 8-5 at the FTT. They widened the score through the efficient spikes of Gozde Yilmaz and Melis Gurkaynak . Netherlands improved their backline defense and they became able to use their attacker Anne Buijs and Shraon Zuidema and thus they decreased the point deficit to 13-14 and they succeeded to lead for the first time 22-21 due to the proper block of Nicole Koolhaas who did a great role to lead her team to win the set 25-23.
The second set showed big disturbance in the reception of the Turkey team so that they lost many points. On the other hand the Netherlands players were more motivated after the turn over they did in the first set. Zuidema and Lenneke Sloetjes played a great role in giving their team a big lead 8-2 at the FTT. After this sluggish start Turkey regained their performance and succeeded to draw 9-9 making a good turn over. Netherlands continued their superiority at the net and succeeded to lead 16-13 at the STT. The Turkish team scored 6 successive points due to the tactical spike services of Polen Uslupehlivan and the successful hits of Yilmaz to lead 19-16. They continued the same rhythm to win the set 25-21.
The third set was very competitive as it started by Turkish leading through the good action of Polen and the setter Ausman Karakoyun but the Netherlands rebounded back and again used the marvelous performance of their middle blocker Koolhaas and the left attacker Buijs. They succeeded to draw 18-18 before going forwards to win the set 25-19 after frequent reception mistake form the Turkish players.
The fourth set showed a better performance from the Turkish team as they used well the Netherlands team mistakes in reception and digging to build up the attacks through Polen who played her best in the match and allowed her team with Yilmaz to lead widely all through the set to win 25-13 and extend the match to tiebreak.
Turkey started the tiebreak in a good action as they had the lead early through the efficiency of Polen and Yilmaz and they were ahead 8-5 at the court turn. Netherlands looked another team in the other side of the court as they again made the recovery through Buijs to win the set 15-10.
